Mavericks official: Will retire Mark Aguirre’s No. 24 jersey during the game on January 30

Today, the Mavericks officially announced that the team will retire the No. 24 jersey of team legend Mark Aguirre during the home game against the Hornets on January 30.

Mark Aguirre was selected by the Mavericks with the No. 1 pick in the 1981 draft. He played for the Mavericks for a total of 8 seasons and played in 923 regular season games. He averaged 24.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game. He shot 49.2% from the field, 30.5% from three-point range, and 74.2% from the free throw line. He was selected to the All-Star lineup three times in his career.
