Today is the birthday of NBA legendary center Wilt Chamberlain.

Chamberlain was born on August 21, 1936. He has played for the Warriors, Lakers and the 76ers. He averaged 30.1 points, 22.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists in his career. He scored 100 points in a single game in 1962 and averaged 50.4 points and 25.7 rebounds in the same season. Chamberlain won the championship twice in his career, was elected as the MVP in the Finals, and was 4 regular season MVPs. He was selected as the All-Stars 13 times and was selected as the Best Team 10 times.

In 1999, Chamberlain died of a heart attack at the age of 63.
