Wizards head coach: Facing the inside team Mavericks, Sarr became our defensive pillar

The Wizards defeated the Mavericks 117-107 in an away game. After the game, head coach Brian Keefe accepted an interview and talked about the second-year second-ranked Sarr.
"Alex (Sal) showed a dominant performance in the paint area," Keefe said. "Facing an experienced inside team, we successfully demonstrated the intensity of physical confrontation in the opening game. Even if the initial shooting feeling was not good, we still adhered to the tactical deployment and believed in our execution. As you know, Alex was simply in the paint area. He has been unstoppable - protecting the frame, interfering with shots...three blocks and one steal. He has truly become our defensive pillar at the basket and helped the entire team set the tone of the game early."
Sal played 26 minutes in this game, making 5 of 10 shots and 4 of 4 free throws. He scored 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks.
