Desky: Dortmund hopes to renew his contract with Adeyemi, the player has replaced his agent with Mendes
According to German Sky Sports, Dortmund hopes to renew his contract with striker Adeyemi, but the negotiations are still in their early stages. Adeyemi recently changed his agent for the third time and is now a client of super agent Mendes.
Adeyemi's unstable performance may reflect his uncertainty in career planning. Despite this, Mendes has promised him that he will fight for better terms in Dortmund. It is reported that preliminary talks have been held between Dortmund sports director Kyle and Mendes on a possible contract renewal.
In the summer of 2022, Dortmund signed Adeyemi from Salzburg with a fixed transfer fee of 30 million euros plus a 3 million euro prize. The 23-year-old striker scored 28 goals and contributed 21 assists in 112 games. Under the leadership of the new coach Kovac, his performance has become more mature and stable.
Despite the interests of foreign clubs such as Naples and Juventus, Adeyemi explicitly rejected these invitations at the time and expressed his loyalty to Dortmund. However, his long-term dream is still to join the Premier League.
Dote is willing to renew Adeyemi but will not do anything. At present, Adeyemi's basic annual salary is about 6 million euros, and he is already one of the highly paid players in the team. Adeyemi's monthly salary has increased from the previous 425,000 euros to 475,000 euros, and the annual salary for bonuses can reach up to 8 million euros.
Mendes becomes Adeyemi's new agent, which may complicate negotiations as Mendes may demand a substantial increase in Adeyemi's salary, and Dortmund needs to weigh whether it meets that requirement.
