March 3, 2023 After the detention and the procuratorate initiated judicial investigation procedures, Ashraf was investigated by a pre-trial judge for rape charges and placed under judicial supervision. During multiple hearings, the Moroccan denied any violation or rape.

Throughout the pretrial process, Ashraf argued that it was a conspiracy planned by his accuser for economic gain, but the latter always denied it.
