Kuminga: I am most grateful to my teammates during the negotiation process. They never had anyone rush me. Kuba chased me and enlightened me.

Recently, Kuminga talked about his offseason negotiations with the Warriors in an interview with Andscape.

Reporter: What helped you the most during the negotiation process?

Kuminga: What I am most grateful for is my teammates. I never had one of them call me and tell me, "Hey, hurry up and get this done." So, knowing that the guys that I work with on the court every day have my back, I'm so grateful. I think that's the most important thing I've learned: I have supportive people who always stand behind me. I'm happy and honored to always call them my teammates and my brothers.

Reporter: Who did you mainly rely on during this whole process?

Kuminga: I talked with Hield, and I also talked with Dream Chaser, Butler, and Curry. I had over 20 conversations with each of them about how contracts worked and how to deal with certain things. They taught me a lot.

We had a player training camp in San Diego, but I didn't go. That's when I had to tell Butler what was going on and tell him I couldn't attend. He was one of the people who really understood my situation because he had been through a similar contract situation. I also had a long conversation with Curry, and I'm very grateful. Zhui Meng and I also chatted often, but we had another long conversation after he came back from China. They gave me hope and patience. I felt so reassured after talking to them. There are always people you need to listen to and they are the people I need to listen to.
