Warriors Media Day, Payton, who just signed with the team, attended the meeting. Xiaoba compiled his interview content, as follows:

Q: You may have known that you will be back, but it has not been officially finalized until now. How did the whole process feel to you?

Answer: Very good. I spent some time with my family and friends, so I was able to get out of many things, enjoy this summer, and prepare myself to return and welcome the second year.

Q: Have you considered other options? Is it possible not to renew the contract?

Answer: No. That would be difficult. But, you know, there will always be different situations and possibilities. Thank God, those situations did not happen. So, there is nothing to worry about for me.

Q: From a basketball perspective, during the offseason when you became a free agent, did you train and spend time with your teammates?

Answer: I haven't spent too much time with my teammates recently, but I do have training and do it according to the rhythm of my usual offseason. Continue to improve yourself and continue to work hard on some small details. So for me, it's basically a normal offseason, but I've also arranged some trips.

Q: What is the focus of those "small details"?

Answer: It means to continue to take good care of the body and make the body stronger. Stay healthy and stay in a state that is ready to play. I had a good season last year and was able to maintain my attendance rate continuously. So I want to continue to strengthen on this basis, just like constantly adding armor to my body.

Q: Gary, this question may be a bit "crazy", but I still have to ask. Considering the controversy this offseason, how challenging will it be for you to re-incorporate Jonathan (Kuminga) into the team?

Answer: I don't think there is any problem. You know, just go back to training, go back to what we are doing.

Q: You have achieved great success while fighting side by side with Steph (Curry), which is well documented and we have talked about it many times. What do you think of his current game? Especially at this age, you can still perform like this. How have you viewed the evolution of his game in the past few years? What are your expectations?

Answer: From the very beginning, you knew that his game has been growing. Better and better, better and better. I believe he will be better this year, just like the way he treats offseason, making himself stronger and giving him more advantages, and he already has an advantage over most of the league. So I'm sure he did what he needed to do in the offseason to prepare for coming back. I know he is approaching that critical point, and what you know is to decide whether to continue fighting. You know he always draws two people to defend, both on the outside and on the low post. So what we have to do is make things easier for him, find open spaces, and give him a pass exit. Q: Which teammate would be a good skateboarder? (Gary recently started a new Skate Board Association with partners Royce Campbell and Sheldon Lewis.)

A: Surprisingly, I might choose Pat Spencer. I think Pat has that style. You know, he can do almost anything. I believe in Pat. Maybe Jimmy is a bit too heavy on the skateboard, but I think Jimmy can surprise many people.
