It has been 2 years since I left the Brazilian national team! Ronaldo: Neymar is Brazil’s best hope at World Cup

The 33-year-old Neymar has been repeatedly questioned recently. Whether he can represent the Brazilian team in the 2026 World Cup is still uncertain. Ronaldo attended the event for an interview today and expressed his support for Neymar.

Ronaldo said: "Everyone is worried about Neymar, and I think there is still time. I experienced worse and more dramatic situations in 2002, but everything turned out fine in the end. Players give up a lot of things in order to realize their dream of playing football. Neymar is no exception, he must have given up a lot of things."

In the season before the 2002 World Cup, Ronaldo was troubled by injuries. He scored 7 goals and 3 assists in 16 appearances in Inter Milan throughout the season. But in that World Cup, Ronaldo successfully turned things around, scoring 8 goals and winning the Golden Boot, leading Brazil to win its fifth World Cup.

Asked whether Neymar can recreate his history, Ronaldo said: "I think it can. Whether he can overcome all this depends entirely on himself and shut up many people who don't believe in him. Neymar is an amazing kid. He is Brazil's best hope in the World Cup. We will fully support him."

There is still no Neymar in the Brazilian national team roster this month. He has not been in the Brazilian national team for more than 2 years, during which he was injured for 592 days.
