Strasbourg President: Emerga rejects more than a dozen offers for Chelsea next summer
Not long ago, Strasbourg President Mark Keller was interviewed and talked about Emerga's will join Chelsea next summer.
He said: "The relationship between my fans and I have not been like before in the past two years. I feel sorry for my partner, my daughter and my mother, who were all on the scene. But the one that hurts me the most was Emmega."
"The fans attacked Emmega, which was unacceptable. The thing was actually very simple: When he joined us, he was already paid attention to all the big clubs in England and Germany. Thanks to the BlueCo Group, Emmega finally came to Strasbourg. He performed very well in his second season, and after the season, we received multiple offers from clubs in Italy, England and Germany. So we sat down and talked about the players, his agent, the club owner, and me. Our primary goal was to keep him because he was a striker, a leader, and could drive the whole team."
"We found a balance in communication: he will join Chelsea in a year, and this arrangement allows him to play for Strasbourg for a full season. This is totally beneficial for the club, and the players have made efforts, he hopes to stay and fully integrate into the Strasbourg project."
"For a player who has rejected more than a dozen offers, it is very important to know that he will go to Chelsea in a year. I had dinner with more than 40 families of Emerga, and when I walked out of the restaurant, I had only one idea: respect."
"Can't attack a captain who did nothing wrong, we still have a year to enjoy Emerga's performance. I don't want anyone to boo him, he shouldn't be booed. If he doesn't perform well on the court, he can be criticized, which is part of the game, but in this matter, it shouldn't be."
